About Usman Ahmed
He is the founder & CEO at Startups Development Institute. Under SDI, he has launched several flagship initiatives to address social problems through entrepreneurship. He also the founder of Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) which is now Pakistan’s leading institute of entrepreneurship development, entrepreneurship promotion and startup ecosystem.
Usman is also the founder and editor of Pakistan’s 1st Entrepreneurship Magazine, “STARTUP”. The publication aims to promote, showcase and inspire the entrepreneurs of Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Startup Ecosystem
- Initiated LCL (Learn. Create. Lead) Annual Entrepreneurship Conference Series in 2012, It is now the largest gathering of entrepreneurs, innovators, educators & national leaders in Pakistan.
- Initiated Pakistan’s 1st Startup Expo & Awards in May 2015. Recognizing the annual achievements of Pakistani startups was the sole purpose behind this initiative and it is now a yearly feature of EDI.
- Founded Startup – Pakistan’s 1st entrepreneurship magazine in Feb 2014, it is now circulated in all the major cities of Pakistan.
Trained and consulted a number of basic entrepreneurship courses and bootcamps. These workshops provide the new & existing startups with all the necessary tools required to successfully launch & grow a thriving venture.
Usman Ahmed holds an MBA degree from FAST School of Business, Islamabad. He is currently serves as CEO Startups Development Institute. He is also the founder of Entrepreneurship Development Institute. Under EDI, he has organized five national entrepreneurship conferences by the name of LCL (Learn. Create. Lead), from 2012 to 2016. The conference is a now a regular yearly feature of EDI which focuses on bringing our national entrepreneurs under one platform and proving to be a catalyst in promoting the entrepreneurial mindset in the society.

The sole purpose behind this initiative was to recognizing the annual achievements of Pakistani startups.

Usman also served as the Director of Startup Grind Islamabad, a global startup community designed to educate, inspire and connect entrepreneurs from March 2015 to July 2016.
